We are very excited to be running a recruitment process to appoint a new team member to our Integrated Youth Service. Cherry Orchard Integrated Youth Service is a UBU Project funded by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY) 

This is an excellent opportunity for a hardworking professional who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and committed to designing and implementing meaningful interventions in line with the UBU service level agreement.

The youth worker will report to the Youth Service Manager and is expected to collaborate with team members within the youth service and YDP, and across the organisation to ensure that each young person is afforded the best possible outcomes from their interaction and engagement with Cherry Orchard Equine Centre CLG.#

The Youth Worker will engage in conjunction with existing staff. It will be the responsibility of the Youth Worker to:

  • Identify, engage and work directly with young people in the catchment area of Cherry Orchard.
  • Ability to engage young people in planned educational and personal development programmes through outreach, individual work, group work, and joint local initiatives.
  • Deliver the actions and goals set out in the organisation’s strategic and operational plans.
  • Work with colleagues to design and deliver programmes, initiatives and interventions for young people in consultation with management, funders and the board of management.
  • Experience Planning, Delivering and Evaluating Programmes.
  • Develop integrated initiatives with local organisations and local schools
  • Work closely with all services within Cherry Orchard Equine Centre to ensure wrap around supports for young people engaged
  • Ensure the health and safety of all young people within the service
  • Support in the recording of programme activities
  • Adhere to all company and statutory policies, procedures and best practice
  • The ideal candidate should be flexible and motivational. Possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to engage young people in group work.

  • Good interpersonal skills, including ability to liaise with a wide range of contacts and build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Excellent standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to be proactive, use own initiative and work effectively within a pressurised environment.
  • Positive and flexible approach to team working.
  • Excellent written communications skills, including ability to draft summary information and correspondence.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Word processing, Excel and Internet.
  • Ability to maintain strong boundaries and act professionally at all times
