Our vision
Provide individuals with the opportunity to access affordable equine training to undertake
professional equestrian exams.
Our Mission
To provide BHS Pathway training to individuals in Cherry Orchard which enhance their
employability enabling them to pursue their career ambitions.
Our Programme objectives:
- Connect with individuals who wish to achieve BHS Pathway qualifications.
- Provide structured BHS Pathway training.
- Support students on their training journey.
- Provide employment opportunities.
Our Programme delivery:
Cherry Orchard Equine Centre is a purpose built training centre, boasting excellent facilities
such as indoor arena, outdoor arena, indoor stabling, cross country training area, sensory
trail & training classroom.
The programme is coordinated by a full time BHS Accredited Professional Coach.
Training is delivered five days per week and includes riding and stable management lessons.
No financial contribution is required from students for training, instead students will
volunteer their time, assisting with the day to day running of the yard.
Ten hours volunteering is required for ten hours training. Volunteer hours will be managed to
suit the needs of the yard. The yard operates Monday to Friday 8am – 8.30pm, Saturday 8
am – 6pm, Sunday 9-2pm & 6.30-8pm.

Outcomes of the programme:
- Students are trained up to BHS Stage Two in complete horsemanship.
- Upskilling individuals to enable them to secure full time employment in the equine
- industry.
- Providing industry with trained professionals.
Criteria to apply for the working student programme:
- Capable of walk, trot & canter independently and jump a small fence.
- Available to attend training at the allocated times.
- Available to volunteer ten hours per week at the yard, at times to suit the needs of
- the yard.
- A willingness to commit and contribute to the programme.
- Willing to undergo Garda Vetting before commencing training.
- Willing to attend training deemed necessary by the Centre & implement learning from
- this training while on the yard.
