Education & Training
Operating from the Equine Centre, Cherry Orchard Community Training Centre CLG (CTC) is part of the Youth reach provision within the City Of Dublin Education and Training Board.
Community Training Centre
We work with young people between the ages of 16 –21. The needs of early school leavers and the challenges they face in their lives can be very complex.
Secondary education in a way that works!
Working with young people and students we are constantly trying to understand their needs and put in place the supports to overcome the challenges they face. Each student has a tailored and individualised learning plan.
Our Centre offers Equine related learning modules including Stable and Yard Management and Horse Riding. We work closely with the youth services on site to provide every support possible to maximise learning outcomes.
Funded by the City of Dublin Education and Training Board (CDETB) and co-funded by the Government of Ireland, the European Social Fund and the Youth Employment Initiative as part of the ESF Programme for Employability, Inclusion and Learning 2014 – 2020.
BHS Training Programme
We offer a range of BHS (British Horse Society) training programmes which we have tailored over the years to meet the needs of people who wish to gain qualifications in the equine industry.
Youth Employment Programme
Our dedicated worker based in the Youth Service is available to support young people aged between the ages of 15 –24 years. We provide support at one-to-one level and in small groups. We give priority to young people who are not currently in education, employment or training.
This programme is funded under the Targeted Youth Employability Support Initiative (TYESI) of the CDETB.
Blue Door Training Programmes
Our Blue Door service based at 83 Cherry Orchard Crescent organises a number of education and training programmes during the year.
The courses and programmes that we operate are informed by the interests and the needs of the community members engaging with the Blue Door service.
