Youth Employability Programme
This service is aimed at youths between the ages of 15 –24 years and is part of the Targeted Youth Employability Support Initiative (TYESI)
Supporting young people who are not in education, employment or training
How the Programme Works
We provide support at one-to-one level and in small groups to young people aged 15 – 24 yrs. We give priority to young people who are not currently in education, employment or training. Our aim is to be able to help and support any young person living in Cherry Orchard who wants to return to education or training or who is unemployed and wants to get working.
We help young people assess their options if they are considering leaving school early. We support young people identify what kind of job or career would suit them and help them make a plan to reach these goals.
The Cherry Orchard Community Training Centre supports young people from the age of 16 – 21 years to access early school leaver programmes including Youth Reach. We also help young people access apprenticeships, access courses and college/university.
As we are an integrated service, we can also link a young person into many of our other services to support them with other issues they may be facing and to help them overcome barriers to returning to education or training or accessing employment.
