Retail Skills
The purpose of this award is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to operate effectively in a retail selling environments covering key principles of the retail environment in relation to customer care and retail selling, terminology and practices utilised in retail related sales, after sales service, customer services, unique selling points and key responsibilities and entitlements of staff and customers in relation to a retail environment.
Progression Opportunities:
With the very recent introduction of the Customer Service and Retail sales skills Award the completion of this Award will now create a very real advantage for Learners when applying for any Customer service related roles, with further direct progression options into the Wholesale, Business and Retail sectors. In the local area we are very lucky to be in close proximity with the Liffey Valley Retail Centre including 80 stores / 20 restaurants and also the Park West Business Centre is on our doorstep with over 300 companies, both of which with excellent direct employment / work placement opportunities for skilled younger workforces.

How It Works
In our Centre, we work at your pace and an individual plan is created for each learner based on where they are at. This allows us to have a continuous intake of Learners during the year.
Our Learners receive a training allowance for attending the Centre which is a huge incentive for young people today to have some of their own income.

Criteria for Applying
- Be aged between 16 and 21
- Have finished school or be referred by your school
- Want to participate in training and education
- Priority will be given to young people who have not completed second level education
