Gel Nail 6 Week Course with Sarah Naylor Academy

Thanks to our Youth Employability Programme (TYESI), 10 young people recently took part in a 6-week gel nail course conducted by Sarah Naylor Academy—and the progress they made was incredible!
Throughout the course, they learned everything needed to create a full set of gel nail extensions, including the latest BIAB and Gel Polish techniques. They mastered the steps to properly apply and remove gel nails, ensuring they understood the importance of preparation and aftercare. Beyond that, they learned how to perfect nail art designs, using different techniques to create custom looks that clients would love.

The course also covered important aspects of working in the beauty industry, such as hygiene practices, sanitation, and customer care. Participants were taught how to maintain a clean and safe workspace, and how to communicate with clients to provide a professional service.
In addition to technical skills, they gained essential life skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and time management. Working together on practical exercises, they learned how to manage their time effectively and handle challenges as they arose. These skills were crucial for building confidence and communication, which are key in any career.

By the end of the course, each participant earned an ABT Accredited Certificate, qualifying them to work professionally. They were also given a full professional starter kit, including a practice hand, lamp, tips, gels, and Biab, so they could start practicing and working straight away.
This gel nail course wasn’t just about mastering nails—it was about giving these young people the skills, confidence, and qualifications to take the next step in their careers. We are so proud of what they’ve achieved and can’t wait to see what they do next!
